Luggage, Checked and Carry on

Passengers may check two pieces of luggage.  Additional luggage (up to two additional bags per person) may be checked at $10.00 per piece.  If you have more than 4 pieces per person luggage may be accepted on a case-by-case basis and will be charged cargo rates. Checked luggage must weigh less than 50 pounds and the linear dimensions may not exceed 36” x 10” x 28” inches (length + width + height).  If it is heavier or larger than this, passenger will be charged $10.00 on each leg of their trip. Baggage in excess of 70 pounds will be considered freight and will be accepted as CLIPPER CARGO and cannot be checked in as part of a passenger’s baggage allowance.

Passengers may carry on a maximum of one (1) piece of luggage. The piece must not exceed the overall dimensions of 22” x 14” x 9” and be no heavier than 20 pounds.  If it exceeds these dimensions, than the luggage must be checked in.

Bicycles

Bicycles are charged a $20 handling fee each way.  Bicycle space is highly limited, so we strongly recommend that you book in advance.  At check-in, they must be stripped of any packs, tire pumps, water bottles, etc, and a Bicycle Acceptance waiver must be completed and signed by the passenger.  Bicycles are checked in at the bicycle rack directly outside the ticket lobby doors.  Bicycles are stored on the outside deck subject to the elements.  Because of space restrictions, tandem bicycles, bike trailers or unusual lengths/types of bicycles are considered and booked as TWO bicycles.

Animals/Pets

Pets are charged a $20 handling fee each way.  Pet space is highly limited, so we strongly recommend that you book in advance.  They must be in a hard-sided airline approved kennel (kennels can be rented for an additional $10 each way) and have appropriate vaccination records for Customs.  At check-in, a Pet Acceptance waiver must be completed and signed by the passenger.  Be advised that larger kennels are placed on the outside deck subject to engine noise and the elements.

Smaller pets that fit in a 20”x11”x11” enclosed carrier (duffel bag/soft crate style with handles) can be booked as a pet and can travel in the passenger cabin.  We will not allow them to travel with a carrier that doesn’t sufficiently contain the pet, such as a purse or an open bag.  We will not transport animals as cargo.  They must have a person accompanying them.

Service Animals

Service animals are allowed on the vessel. "Service animal" means any guide dog or other animal individually trained to work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability, including, but not limited to, guiding individuals with impaired vision, alerting individuals with impaired hearing to intruders or sounds, alerting persons with seizure disorders to the onset of a seizure, providing minimal protection or rescue work, pulling a wheelchair, or fetching dropped items.
