Check back for March & April 2011 dates! For the first time, Clipper Vacations brings to you Gray Whale Watching from downtown Seattle with a stop at historic Coupeville on Whidbey Island. Gray Whales are magnificent marine mammals reaching up to 50 feet in length and 35 tons. Every year they migrate north from Baja Mexico to Alaska with their calves in tow. Peak season to catch a glimpse of these large mammals in the Puget Sound's calm waters is in March and April. On select March and April dates only, Clipper Vacations will be offering this exclusive Gray Whale excursion. It will be fun for the whole family and kids are FREE** 
Gray Whales are known as coastal cruisers who stay close to the shore feeding in shallow water. They are baleen whales (whales lacking teeth), and feed on small crustaceans found in the mud. On your Gray Whale and Sea Life Search you will have an opportunity to spot these creatures as they move north on their long journey, stopping to feed along the way. One way to spot them is to look for a tall and bushy blow near the shore The Victoria Clipper III uses knowledgeable on board naturalists to give you the best chance for a peek at these special creatures as well as the many other marine life and birds living in the Puget Sound area. Also included in your Gray Whale and Sea Life Search is a stop in the quaint and historic Coupeville on Washington’s Whidbey Island. You will have an two hours to visit the seaport town. Other features of Coupeville not to be missed are a saloon and the historic red wharf building containing the skeletons of a gray whale, a porpoise and a sea lion.
